The mini-library for residents near to the Las Filipinas area is now open and offering books to borrow.
The centre is still not yet complete, with shelves being one of the next things on the “to do” list, but there are already a wide range of books available.
The books can be taken away, or they can be read at the site which is fast becoming a central point in the community, offering a range of services such as Spanish lessons, as well as a hub for community based activities, and even has petanque courses in the grounds. The centres also has two computers available, as well as Wi-Fi.
The team building the library at the centre, who are all volunteers by the way, are still looking for more books, so if you do have any just sat around collecting dust, this is an ideal time for an early spring clean, by donating them to the centre.
If you would like to donate, or if you would like to borrow books yourself, pop along during the normal opening hours, Monday to Friday from 8am until 3pm.
